Easter Brunch

The Sisters of Providence are inviting all to join them for Easter Brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Sunday, April 20, at the Providence Spirituality and Conference Center at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Ind., located 10 minutes northwest from downtown Terre Haute.

Cost is $21.75 for adults, $19.75 for seniors, $19.75 for military members, and $12 for children ages 4 to 11. Children ages 3 and under will be admitted free.

All are also invited to attend Easter Sunday Eucharistic Liturgy at 11 a.m., also on April 20, in the Church of the Immaculate Conception.

The 14th and Chestnut Community Center invites you to its Spring Event on April 24 at 6:00 pm in the Sycamore Banquet Center. Fly-In / Drive-In

The Indiana State University Flight Academy will be hosting a Fly-In / Drive-In on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Terre Haute International Airport. The event will go from 11 AM - 3 PM. It is open to the public. Free admission and parking. We will be collecting donations for the Indiana State University’s Air Race Classic Team and NIFA (National Intercollegiate Flying Association) Flight Team. Those that donate will be served food from 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM. Hoosier Aviation will be providing city rides for $20. Cars/motorcycles will be able to cruise down a runway or taxiway from 2 - 2:30 PM. The Terre Haute Police Department will be doing a K-9 Unit demonstration. Rain date: Sunday, April 27, 2014

KidFit Event

The Wabash Valley Association for the Education of the Young Child is sponsoring the 2nd Annual KidFit Event on Saturday, 4/26 from 1-3 p.m. There will be a variety of activities for kids of all ages including kids zumba, tricycle races, obstacle courses, active games, art projects and reading by Mother Goose on the Loose., Nutritious snacks will be served in the KidFit Cafe'. This event is free and open to the public and will be held at the Booker T. Washington Gym at 1101 S. 13th St., Terre Haute.

16th Earth Day Celebration

16th Earth Day Celebration scheduled!

The longest running and largest Earth Day celebration in West Central Indiana has been scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, located 10 minutes northwest of downtown Terre Haute, Ind.

The celebration will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and is hosted by White Violet Center for Eco-Justice, a ministry of the Sisters of Providence.

River’s Journey Native American Healing Drum and Flute Circle will perform as will Solly Burton and Brent McPike on mandolin and guitar respectively.

In addition, a Silly Safaris presentation will take place as well as a presentation by Take Flight! Wildlife Education. The Vigo County Public Library will also provide a children’s book giveaway, and the Sisters of Providence will offer a bake sale.

Food will also be offered by local vendors.
