Six Men's Basketball Players Named to NABC Honors Court
TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- Six student athletes on the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's basketball team were honored for their academic success in results released by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
Individuals earning spots on the team included mechanical engineering major Alec Houpt (Chesterton), mechanical engineering major Jordy Martin (New Albany), mechanical engineering major Nick McDonough (Guilford/East Central), biomedical engineering major Brian McHugh (Deerfield, Ill.), civil engineering major James Pillischafske (Louisville, Ky./Male) and mechanical engineering major Corey Povaleri (Deputy, Ind./Madison).
Requirements for the NABC Honors Court included student-athletes completing their junior or senior year with a 3.20 grade point average as a member of the varsity team.
Rose-Hulman reached the NCAA Division III Tournament for the third consecutive year last season with a 22-6 record to match the best mark in school history. The Fightin' Engineers also won the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season and conference tournament titles for the second consecutive year.
