RHIT Releases New Athletic Website
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology partnered with PrestoSports to launch the next generation of its athletic website August 1.
The new athletic website, located at athletics.rose-hulman.edu, features larger photos, intergrated statistics, social media and video tabs, and direct links to in-game coverage from every page of the website. Pointers at the top of the website are also labeled for sport pages, inside athletics, facilities, recruits, fans, rec sports and the Varsity R Club.
Improved mobile device functionality is a major addition of the new Rose-Hulman athletic website. In mid-August, users can download the new "Front Row App" from the App Store and Google Play to create a completely new mobile viewing experience. The site also automatically configures for I-phones, I-Pads, Android devices, or Tablets, and allows users to choose mobile or desktop views as their preference.
In addition, a new live statistics platform will integrate with mobile devices, and automatically update the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference website and national websites such as d3football.com, d3hoops.com, d3baseball.com and d3soccer.com as statistics are entered.
New features also include enhanced player bios that include updated career statistics and other information for every athlete in baseball, basketball, football, soccer, softball and volleyball, updated automatically after each game during the 2014-15 season.
A calendar of upcoming events keeps fans informed of the next games, while a ticker along the bottom of the screen will carry the most recent results. Fans will also be able to access Rose-Hulman's social media platforms, online apparel store, intramural activities, live video, and the Varsity R Club page with one click.
Online archives have been added for the last three years in every sport, with plans to archive a decade or more of information next summer. Fans and prospective student-athletes will also be able to view Rose-Hulman's athletic facilities in a more photo friendly manner.
"The new Rose-Hulman athletic website is a response to how the world consumes information in 2014," said Kevin Lanke, assistant athletic director for sports information and communications. "Users will find our new website more functional, easier to use, and bolder. Mobile users will notice an immediate and significant difference in the new website."
